Qualifying a roster for an AIHA qualifier
Teams that intend to participate in an AIHA qualifier will have to fill out and complete the TEAM ROSTER & ENTRY FORM. Youth teams (8u-18u divisions) will also need to register with the AAU (Adult and women divisions do NOT register with the AAU). Click on the REGISTER WITH AAU menu for more information. Players may be asked to submit their AAU cards to the tournament director for proof of AAU membership before playing.
The players that are written in on the TEAM ROSTER & ENTRY FORM and received by the AIHA will be their official roster for the entire season. At any point during an AIHA season, any 8u-16u team roster MAY NOT lose more than 50% of the players from the original team roster that was submitted to the AIHA at the beginning of the season. If this is the case, then that team will be considered a “new” team, and must then requalify itself in order to qualify to participate at the state championships. If, after a team plays in their first qualifier, wants to add players to their roster for the next qualifier, then the team will need to indicate on the TEAM ROSTER & ENTRY FORM for that particular qualifier which players that they intend to add. Unlike in seasons past, when teams could add players to their team roster at the qualifier itself, a team will only be able to add players by filling out the roster addition section on the TEAM ROSTER & ENTRY FORM. This must be done before the qualifier and the completed form must be sent in to the AIHA. For each new player that a team adds to their original roster (the one that was submitted to the AIHA prior to their first qualifier) a $15.00 fee must accompany a completed AIHA PLAYER RELEASE FORM and 18u and below age division players must be registered with AAU. This information must be sent in to the AIHA, by the qualifier registration deadline, before the added player is eligible to participate on their team. This $15.00 fee and player information must be received by the AIHA and MAY NOT be submitted at the qualifier that the team intends on playing in.
Youth teams can add one skater and one goalie at qualifiers
Prior to the first game, youth teams (16u & below divisions) will be allowed to add one skater and one goalie while at a qualifier. This player addition has been implemented by the AIHA in the event that a team has a crisis at a particular qualifier which could render a team unable to compete without enough participants, goalies in particular. It must be noted, however, that the players being added in this manner must be done so by indicating their roster addition on the TEAM SIGN-IN FORM at the qualifier and a $15.00 fee per player must be submitted along with a completed AIHA PLAYER RELEASE FORM for each player and an AAU registration number as well (Adult and women divisions DO NOT register with AAU).
18u, adult and women’s teams will not be limited to how many players that they wish to add to their rosters either before or at any qualifier. Players in these divisions may be added at the qualifier. As in the youth divisions, each roster addition must be accompanied by a $15.00 fee to the AIHA.
Players may change team rosters ONE TIME
Once a player is officially rostered to a team (entered into the AIHA data base) the player may make ONE ROSTER MOVE TO ANOTHER TEAM WITHIN THE SAME AGE DIVISION TO ANOTHER TEAM DURING THE SAME SEASON. The AIHA board must approve any more than one roster move to another team with the same age division during the same season by any one player.
Players must get an official release
Players MAY NOT remove themselves from one inline club’s roster and place themselves on another inline club’s roster without consent during the course of a season. Because of AIHA affiliation with AAU, a player must be granted a release from their current club team roster if that player intends to be added to the roster of anther club’s team during the same AIHA season. Teams may have a maximum of 14 players officially listed on their roster. It will be the responsibility of every team to see to it that they officially delete the players that will no longer be a member of their team. As was done by officially adding a player to a team roster, officially deleting players from team rosters is just as important and must be indicated as such on the TEAM ROSTER & ENTRY FORM before being sent in to the AIHA. Players may officially be deleted from any team roster at the qualifier itself, but must be done so by indicating the deletion on their TEAM SIGN-IN FORM at the qualifier that they intend on playing in. If teams do not officially delete players that they do not want on their roster, then teams could end up exceeding the maximum of 14 rostered players, and, as a result, would not be permitted to add any more players to their rosters. |
